GRANT SUCCESSES

Over the past year, Jennifer has written grant applications for two local nonprofits: the Metropolitan Seattle Sickle Cell Task Force and Progress House Association, which runs a work-release program for the Department of Corrections. The more than $500,000 in funding received to date has allowed the Task Force to launch a Transitions Program for young adults with Sickle Cell Disease and to develop advocacy programs that address racial bias in healthcare. Progress House has been able to expand their family reunification program for mothers coming out of prison and to create a 12-month navigation program for prisoners of color who are unable to find a space in a traditional work-release facility.
